Need Some Soothing?

When I lived in Vancouver, I never felt more peaceful in my life!
Nature is so soothing!
The sound of a stream flowing...
Moss on the rocks....
Ferns everywhere
The sound of leaves flickering in the breeze...
The chirping of the birds....
The crickets and tree frogs at night....
The smells of nature, specially after it rains...

When I am surrounded by nature, I am home!
STOP AND TAKE IN THE BEAUTY THAT SURROUNDS YOU!

Trees background is CHF Verse is IO

The Bunnies are Gathering

Not great pictures! In any case...

The yellow/orange background was done with Copic markers on glossy CS.

Foreground is also done with Copics.

You can't tell in these photos, but the eyes have stickle's sparkle in them.

The Bunny Stamp is Stamp Barn

Because you asked.......
Sorry about the useless picture of the copics.
I guess I better work on my photography skills. Ya think???LOL
I used the following markers for the background.
Y21,Y15, Y19, Y17, Y38, and YR09
Because you asked.......
To achieve the background effect, all I did was cover the center of my glossy
CS with a mask. I used painter's tape.
Then starting with the lightest color, swipe your marker (multiple times)
from the mask out to the edge of the CS. Do a little bit and then
change to a shade darker and repeat. Keep repeating this process
until you complete the card.
I hope this helped.
You do not need copics to do this background.
You can use the direct to paper method as well.
I can't stess this enough.......Play and never be afraid to experiment.
Try anything when it comes to art.
I usually produce better cards when I am experimenting, then
when I am trying to follow instructions, or have a card all planned out.
I've never been good at taking instruction. LOL
I am not very good at explaining things in writing. If you have
any further questions about this card or any other card, You can email
me your phone number (if you are within North America) and I will call you.
If you are outside North America, You can email me and request my phone number.
I am much better at explaining that way.
Smiles & Cheers,
Dorothy

Two Tone Embossing and Bleach!

I love to experiment and make backgrounds!
For the background I dabbed bleach onto a dark blue card stock.
Allow to dry. Then I embossed the image with a little gold in some spots
and silver in the rest.

THE BEST INVESTMENT.....

ONE OF THE BEST INVESTMENTS IS NATURE!
All you have to do is invest a little care and love and you
can enjoy it's beauty forever.
It will always give back!
I enjoy the peace it offers to your soul in this crazy world!
A REAL SIMPLE CARD! It's just layers of paper and a few leafs.
Butterflies are also one of natures elegant beauties that fascinate me.
Their colors and daintiness can amuse me for hours.
Background stamp - Inkadinkado (Brenda Walton)
Butterfly stamp - Unknown.

I love perfect pearls!
There is a pkg of Perfect pearls in my blog candy.
The Stamp is Unmounted and I forget who makes it.
If anyone knows where this stamp came from,
please let me know so I can post the manufacturer. Thanks!
I love this saying!
I just wish I would apply this great advice.
I score a big fat zero on all three counts! LOL
Do you apply this advice?
Care to give an example of how you apply this advice?

I always have hugs to spare....

This card is for a special someone in my life who
loves her Teddy.
I think I am starting to catch on to how to use
the Copic markers.
I will keep practicing, and let you watch my progress. Now.................
I better go and get my NEW BLOG CANDY POST READY!

I tried to make the teddies look furry. I'm not sure about furry, but I think if nothing else, it gave those hugabears some texture.

I'm Not Bossy!

Stay Tuned for The New Blog Candy Reveal
This Card Is Going To My Husband!!!
I'm still struggling with the Copics!
However, I'm not giving up!!!
Look what I did to this poor woman's face! LOL

A Little Variation with Alcohol Inks.

Background was done with alcohol inks on glossy paper .
(Heavy on the pearl and silver metalic inks) While the ink is still wet, run a soft brush across it.
The flowers were cut from a piece of paper. I covered the paper with VersaMark and embossed. I did this twice and then just stuck a couple of dots in the center of the flowers.

Enjoy Life's Moments

We let so many precious moments slip right by us.
We have busy lives and sometimes forget to take the time
to smell the roses as they say.
We lose those moments forever. There is no going back.
Trust me I know.
Stay tuned to see who won this weeks Blog Candy

This is not a great picture...sorry!

Goofed with Copics Once Again! LOL

I started out wanting to use my copics yesterday.
I had the great idea of embossing the images first. LOL
"This will hold the ink in place!"
NOT!
The copics seem to dissolve the embossing. grrrrrrrrr LOL
So.......it was on to plan B
I'll try again today! Wish me Luck!
P.S. I know I can go explore websites/blogs to find out how to use the things, However, I am very stubborn! See you later.
Oh, and stay turned for another interesting announcement coming up in the next day or so.
Good Luck Tomorrow! Feb 21st

BLOG CANDY DRAW

BLOG CANDY DRAW WILL BE DONE ON THIS COMING SATURDAY - FEB 21

GOOD LUCK!

My Grandaughter made this too.

Jazzy made this box for her Mother.
I did the punching for her because her dainty little hands
wouldn't allow her to do it. LOL.
Aside from that, all I did was tell her where to score, measure and cut etc...
She really is crafty for the ripe old age of 7. We had a fun day together.
I just love my Jazzy sooooo much!
Grandchildren are Wonderful!
